DRG Technology is proud to support environmental protection and the reduction of waste through its own operations as an employer, and as a retailer and consumer of IT products. This is achieved by considering the options available to reduce, recycle and re-use, including:

Reduce.

Promote energy efficiency – identify and promote ways to improve efficient use of resources to DRG Technology clients
Reduced paper and materials use – Using electronic communication and storage reduces the need for paper or CDs. DRG Technology’s customer communications including invoices, statements and quotations are sent electronically. Written invoices and statements are provided only on request. Clients are encouraged to make payments by electronic transfer or credit payments.

Remote working – DRG Technology provides a remote help facility to clients where appropriate. DRG Technology service level agreements have time built into contracts to enable minor issues to be logged and addressed during pre-allocated time – this reduces the need to make multiple trips for non urgent issues reducing travel time and associated environmental costs. All DRG Technology business systems are configured to allow remote working by staff.

Repair not replace – Where practical, hardware is sourced for clients that comes with extended manufacturers warranties as standard to encourage a repair rather than replace mentality.

DRG Technology places emphasis on environmental considerations in its and client business planning – we seek to understand how businesses may grow in the future and recommend where appropriate that secure VPN’s are considered to support remote working. DRG Technology aims to reduce or eliminate adverse effects on the environment resulting from the DRG Technology activities.

Recycle

DRG Technology provides a re-cycle station for printer ink for all clients.
All practical product packaging is recycled weekly
Redundant client machinery is recycled where possible or responsibly disposed
DRG stationary is sourced as recyclable, and all paper waste generated from our offices is recycled

Re-use

Where possible, computer components are refurbished and in some instances are re-used
DRG Technology supports donation of replaced hardware and will actively work with clients to identify possible donor recipients
