We are starting to see a number of infections of PC Live Care. This virus follows on from Anti-virus 2010, Anti-virus 2009, Anti-virus Vista and a few other similar ones. It will place a number of files on your PC that look live viruses and then it will pop up with security alerts – telling you that you are infected and that the only way to clean them is to buy PC Live Care.

Unfortunately it appears to be able to get through most antivirus software! Malwarebyts (www.malwarebytes.org) will remove it – the only problem being that PC Live Care blocks the malwarebytes web site!

The best way to deal with viruses is to avoid them in the first place – remember, keep your antivirus up to date, don’t download applications unless you trust the site, and don’t follow links in unexpected/odd emails!
